Professor Ken Jones will deliver this year’s annual lecture.
Ken Jones has had a long career in education, as practising teacher, academic and trade unionist. As secretary of Barking and Dagenham NUT in the eighties, he led a successful teachers’ strike against job losses. Leaving his role as an English teacher, he joined academia culminating in a chair in educational studies at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London where he is Emeritus Professor. He now works as Lead Policy Adviser on curriculum and assessment to the National Education Union. His most recent publication is the book Education in Britain:1944 to Present.
