On the early-mid 20s issue; what helped me see and get out of that was getting to study a year of my degree in Sweden where I met and worked with students from across Europe and the world. That’s when I saw clearly how much I was lacking intellectually, despite being a hard working, prize winning top grade student in the UK state school system.
