SEA’s annual conference will take place on Saturday June 25th at Student Central (formerly the University of London Union) in Central London.
This year’s conference will obviously address the implications of the government White Paper for schools. The implications of these proposals are profound including the centralisation of power in the hands of ministers and private academy trusts and further attacks on the professionalism of teachers.
We will also be looking at parallel issues in higher education where we are also seeing market forces and privatisation taking root with serious consequences for both students and the HE workforce.
Members of SEA are invited to submit resolutions on any educational issue. They should be sent to socialisteducation@virginmedia.com by 15th May.
If, before submitting resolutions, members want to know whether SEA has existing policy on an issue, please contact the General Secretary at the same e mail address.
